I have checked, and you don't even need to set the file to "read-only". Changing one line in ShooterEngine.ini has made a huge difference in the amount of detail I see in-game. I'm yet to find a way to get better AA in-game, as NVidia settings seem to do nothing and the options available in the config are very weak.Īnywho. The only issue I've noticed with this is that the paltry AntiAliasing that Dirty Bomb uses struggles with the increased sharpness on the new swanky objects. OnlyStreamInTextures is thus forcing them to stay loaded at the highest quality at all times - a quality which never gets seen in the game otherwise. My guess is that normally, the game loads and downscales decals / textures that it deems less important and never bothers correcting them when they are inspected / approached by the player. Not much else seems different in the scene, but I have noticed a lot of locations on various maps that benefit from this change. With OnlyStreamInTextures set to True, it instead looks like this. Note the decals on the van look pixelated and blurry. By default it is False and a typical scene looks like this (using the intro from Bridge as an example). Then I found this line: OnlyStreamInTextures=Falseįrom what I can glean, having this set to False allows textures to be streamed in and out on the fly to free up VRAM or something. I changed a couple of things like setting MaxAnisotropy to 16 and enabling a couple of types of AA - and there is a noticeable difference with which one you use (I recommend PostProcessAAType -1 or "bAllowPostprocessMLAA" in the config) - but the game still looked a bit meh. Unfortunately setting a resolution scale higher than 100% does nothing, and using DSR in Nvidia Control Panel to upscale makes the UI painfully small. Most don't have such a big effect (and believe me I've tested). Mostly relating to shadow resolution and quality. Add following Launch Option (via steam library rightclick dirtybomb -> options) to Dirtybomb: -execautoexec. To cut to the chase: there are plenty of tweaks one can try in ShooterEngine.ini. You need to make an autoexec.cfg file in steam\steamapps\common\Dirty Bomb\Binaries. Crazy, huh?īut I'm sure I can't be the only one who is perfectly able to run the game at very high framerates on ultra settings, and want it to be even more ultra! I've been looking for a way to make the game look better. To map these binds to your preferred key just change them out.So, I've been fiddling around with the ShooterEngine.ini, as I seem to do a lot. Unfortunately, I don't think it's possible to bind the vsays (at lest i have not figured it out yet). You will need to open the file in this link (C:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents\My Games\UnrealEngine3\ShooterGame\Config\shooterinput.ini) and paste these binds at the end of the following section (don't forget to make the file read only when finished). Never had this problem in the past but on a fresh windows install now trying to get this config to work. Easy to tell because the resX in the config is 1600 but in game it's still 1920. I've been able to recreate some of the popular binds and toggles from Enemy Territory, such as teamsays for"need medic", "need ammo", and an fov toggle. I'm trying to use kroad's config 4 but when I start game all settings are still default like I didn't change anything at all.
